FAQ
Q: How many computers can I install the VHI’s PC Kits Desktop Software?
A: PC Kits Desktop software is licensed for use on one computer only.
Q: Why do I need to purchase the PC Kits Desktop software?
A: The PC Kits Desktop is the software platform required to run all of VHI’s exercise databases. Each computer would need the PC Kits Desktop software and the exercise databases.
Q: What happens if I replace my PC or my PC crashes?
A: You are able to transfer the software to another PC. You would need your most current CD-ROM and all of your serial numbers to reinstall the software. Since the software was previously activated on a different PC, you will need to call us to have your serial numbers released before you can re-activate your software.
Q: How do I re-activate the software?
A: Contact Health Promotion Resources and a customer service representative will provide assistance.
Q: How does the licensing work for the Network version of PC Kits?
A: VHI’s Network software may be installed on all networked computers. The number of concurrent user licenses equals the number of simultaneous logins to the Network program. For example, if there are 20 networked computers and a purchase of a 5 concurrent user license, all 20 computers will have access to the program and up to 5 people can log into the program at the same time.
Q: Can the software accommodate different network scenarios and large installations?
A: VHI PC Kits Network edition integrates seamlessly with existing Microsoft SQL Server installations. It has been designed to install with client-server, peer-to-peer and terminal server environments.
Q: Can I add user licenses to the Network version of PC Kits at any time?
A: Yes, you may add as many user licenses as you require for the Network software at any time.
Q: Can I add exercise databases to my PC Kits software at any time?
A: Yes, you may add as many exercise databases as you require at any time (for the Desktop and Network version of PC Kits).
Q:What is VHI’s policy on technical support and maintenance fees?
A: VHI offers free technical support with no annual maintenance fees. VHI offers free support to all users of the Network and Desktop software, not just the IT department.
Q: How easy is it to reach technical support? Can I reach a technical support person during normal business hours?
A: VHI has a technical staff on call from 8am – 4pm Pacific Standard Time (U.S.A). Call VHI at any time during those hours at (253) 536-4922. You may email technical support at support@vhikits.com and a technician will contact you. You may also contact Health Promotion Resources to relay any technical issues to VHI.
Q: Will this system continue to meet my future needs?
A: VHI currently has 43 exercise databases. VHI is dedicated to keeping their collections current with the needs of the rehabilitation and fitness professions. As the fields change, VHI will be there to meet your ever-expanding patient education need.
